Our Family Caring For Yours

A Mother and Daughter Approach To Care

Lyne Emmanuel

Taking care of others has always been at the center of who I am. I worked as a nurse assistant for 20 years, supporting individuals with compassion, patience, and attentiveness. That experience shaped the way I show up for others - with a deep understanding of how important it is for people to feel safe, seen, and genuinely cared for.

When my daughters were diagnosed with breast cancer, I stepped away from my career to care for them full-time. That time in my life deepened my understanding of what it truly means to care for someone - being present, attentive, and patient through it all. Now that both my daughters have healed, I’m grateful to be able to return to caring in a new way.

Opening Lakou Timoun feels like a natural next step. Growing up, I watched my own mother care for children in her home, creating a space that felt warm and safe. That stayed with me, and it’s something I now bring into the way I care for children.

Caring for young children has always felt natural to me. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Peter’s University, and I’ve been working with children for over a decade. Over the years, that experience has deepened into a true passion for early childhood and the impact these early years have on a child’s development.

I’m especially passionate about supporting each child’s growing sense of self, and other awareness, free thought, and social-emotional learning. I believe children should feel safe to express themselves, explore their thoughts, and develop confidence in who they decide to be everyday they show up.

At Lakou Timoun, I focus on creating a nurturing environment where children feel understood, respected, and have the space to grow at their own pace. When children feel secure, they’re able to explore, connect, and learn in meaningful ways.

In my free time, I enjoy reading non-fiction, creating handmade cards and collages, and running. I bring that creativity and curiosity into my work with children through imagination, exploration, and discovery.
